On August 31, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., Gov. Jeb Bush will officially kick off the First Coast Business Leadership Network, an employer-to-employer network aimed at promoting awareness, and education and encouraging employers to recruit, hire, train and retain employees with disabilities. The event, sponsored by the Chamber, will be held at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida, 4800 Deerwood Campus Parkway. TALLAHASSEE—Linda H. South, Director, Florida Agency for Workforce Innovation, released Florida’s labor market statistics for June 2006. Based on the latest nationwide data, Florida had the fastest job growth rate and lowest unemployment rate of the ten most populous states and added the highest number of new jobs of all states in the nation. Florida’s unemployment rate continued to be below the national average.
