WorkSource Appoints New Board Members
Linda Sparks and Warren Flenniken were recently appointed to the WorkSource Board of Directors. Board members are nominated by local chambers of commerce, county commissioners, city councils and mayors. Chaired by Jake Schickel, a local attorney, the board provides critical guidance, feedback and direction to the WorkSource vision and mission statement.
Linda Sparks is the Regional Executive Director of Academies of Electrical Technology, a company that produces highly qualified electrical apprentices and journeyman professionals. She is also and Educational Doctoral candidate in the Educational Leadership program at the University of North Florida
A teacher for many years, Sparks was elected to the Duval County School Board, where she served from 1994 – 20002. She has served on several state of Florida commissions and task forces. Warren Flenniken is currently the Vice President and General Manager of the Containerboard Mill Division of Smurfit-Stone Container Corporation. He holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering Degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology, in Atlanta, Georgia.
Flenniken has been in the paper/pulp mill industry for more than 30 years.
