Express Scripts Coming to St. Mary's

(Compiled from Florida Times Union stories)
Express Scripts, one of the largest pharmacy benefit management companies in the nation, announced plans on May 14, 2004 to locate a new call center in St. Marys, GA.
The company plans to hire 650 employees, most of them locally, said Bob Noble, executive director of the Camden County Joint Development Authority.
Job fairs will be held in upcoming weeks to begin hiring employees for the call center, which is scheduled to open by late summer, Noble said. The new call center will be located in a former Wal-Mart store at the Kings Bay Village shopping center.

Washington Mutual Inc. plans to add 700 workers to its Jacksonville office over the next three years as it consolidates seven national locations, according to a business development plan submitted to the city of Jacksonville.
An unknown number of the new jobs will be taken by relocated Washington Mutual employees, according to a company spokesman.
The proposal comes less than four months after Washington Mutual said it would lay off 188 Jacksonville employees, mainly during the first quarter of 2004, as a result of organizational changes.
Washington Mutual operates more than 2,400 offices nationally and employs 2,100 workers at its 565,000-square-foot facility on Baymeadows Way on Jacksonville’s south side.
