DMA TO PHASE OUT TELEPHONE PREFERENCE SERVICE
The Direct Marketing Association (DMA) announced this month that it is gradually phasing out its Telephone Preference Service (TPS). DMA began the TPS in 1985 to assist consumers in reducing the number of unsolicited telemarketing calls they receive. Consumers could register for DMA’s TPS, which allowed them to “opt out” of national telemarketing lists.
