Survey Indicates Recovery from ID Theft Could Take Months
It can take only minutes for someone to steal your identity, but it can take you months to recover if you are a victim. According to an online survey conducted for Nationwide Mutual Insurance by MarketTool, more than 50% of victims surveyed reported that they discovered on their own that an identity thief had struck them. And, 28 percent said they have not yet restored their identities, despite spending more than one year working on the problem.
