Van Dusen Named Interim President and CEO

EWW recently named Ann Van Dusen as Interim President and CEO. Van Dusen, a former senior executive for Save the Children and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), will lead EWW until a permanent President and CEO is selected by the Board of Trustees.

"With close to 30 years of experience in international development, Ann is an outstanding choice to head EWW while a search for a permanent President and CEO is underway," said EWW Board Chair Irene Wurtzel. "Ann's extensive management and leadership experience in both the private and public sector combined with her in-depth knowledge of international development make her well-equipped to continue to grow EWW and enhance the organization's visibility and reach."

From 2001-2003, Van Dusen served as Chief Operating Officer for Save the Children, a leading international relief and development organization with a presence in over 40 countries and 18 U.S. states. Prior to Save the Children, Van Dusen worked at USAID from 1976-2001; she held a variety of senior positions at the agency, including Senior Deputy Assistant Administrator, Bureau for Policy and Program Coordination (1999-2001) and Deputy Assistant Administrator, Bureau for Asia and Near East (1997-1999).

Van Dusen holds a PhD from Johns Hopkins University and a M.A. from Johns Hopkins University's School of Advanced International Studies.
