Health Services Expo & Career Fair
Local Job Fair Enters the Age of Technology
The Daytona Beach News-Journal (DBNJ) and the Workforce Development Board of Flagler and Volusia Counties, Inc. (WDB) successfully partnered to provide the area’s largest expo dedicated solely to healthcare professionals.
The Health Services Expo and Career Fair was held at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University’s ICI Center on Friday, August 6 from 4pm to 8pm and Saturday, August 7 from 8am to noon. Both DBNJ and the WDB contributed personnel and resources to the event. “Our organization was pleased to have this opportunity to provide the recruitment service to both our local healthcare industry and skilled professionals. The DBNJ was a natural partner in meeting our mission,” state Rick Fraser, President of the WDB.
The WDB utilized components of its new job-matching database to assist 208 job seekers with locating available job openings at the event. The system was a major part of the registration process and provided participating businesses with access to the contact information of qualified applicants after the event.
In addition to providing six CEU/CME trainings to area healthcare professionals, health care providers offered 460 job opportunities to qualified applicants at the event.
