Partnership draws 9,000 Job Seekers, 1,000 New Employees

WCF brings $397,000 to the community
This grant allows us to focus on our future workforce A $297,000 grant will be used on special youth projects, and a $100,000 grant was awarded to enhance job retention and career advancement of previous welfare recipients.

Local Unemployment Rate - 5.1%
Unemployment claims can be filed online at www.CentralFloridaOneStop.org. Central Florida's unemployment rate remains steady at 5.1% for April 2002.  Central Florida counties range between 5.3% in Orange County to 4.1% in Sumter County, all below the national rate of 5.7%.  For Central Florida, that translates to 51,375 unemployed and 966,420 employed residents.
