Operation Paycheck Update

WORKFORCE CENTRAL FLORIDA honors scholarships promised by Operation Paycheck using local training dollars.  WCF has been fortunate to be able to honor scholarships for more than 300 additional individuals.

Locally, 1,269 individuals enrolled in training through an Operation Paycheck scholarship.  To date 194 have completed training and those employed are averaging $12.65 per hour.  The demand was for the program was so strong that the Agency for Workforce Innovation announced that the program’s funds were gone on July 15th, only 8 months into the short-term program

Letters have gone out to almost 600 additional residents who expressed an interest in the program informing them of the program status.  They have been referred to the ONE-STOP CAREER CENTERS for placement assistance.  There are also a limited number of training scholarships available at this time under other fund sources for individuals who are economically disadvantaged through those centers.
