Full time women are still making less than their male counterparts. According to a recent study by the US Department of Labor, women are making only 76% of what their male counterparts are making in full time employment positions. The 76% is up from 63% in 1979. Also, the median weekly earnings for a woman are $511 compared to $672 for men.
The percentages vary when you compare race, age, occupation and even locations. For example, Blacks and Hispanics earn 87% and 88% of a Black or Hispanic man’s salary. But white women make only 75% of their white male counterparts. Here are some other interesting statistics:
