Compensating Employees: Where Do You Stand?

Employers pay an average of $23.15 per hour worked for their employees.  The Bureau of Labor Statistics released data on employers’ costs for employee compensation June 19th.

 

So, just how does that $23.15 per hour break down?

 

$16.76 - wages/salary

$1.61 – insurance

$1.59 – paid leave

$ .80 – retirement

$ .56 – supplemental pay

$ .03 – other

$ 1.80 – legally required (ex:  social security)
