KIOSKS Bring Services to Community

WORKFORCE CENTRAL FLORIDA will begin deploying KIOSKS in the community to promote services to the ONE-STOP CAREER CENTERS. The project will be achieved in coordination with may community partners, such as the technical vocational schools, community colleges, operators of community centers, social service providers, etc. The kiosks system will reduce the need for additional "bricks and mortar" centers while providing information and services at these satellite locations throughout our region at times convenient to the customer. Fourteen kiosk stations have been purchased. Eleven of the stations are single-station kiosk and three are three-station systems designed for larger areas such as shopping malls and convention centers. Each kiosk contains a customized computer system with software designed to provide access to the One-Stop system. Job seekers will be able to access the same database and information as they would if they visited one of the six physical locations. The kiosks will be placed in various locations throughout the five county region service area, but generally away from the six centralized One-Stop offices. Commitments to house the kiosk stations have been received form Excel Alternatives, an alternative school, Orange County Public Schools, Seminole Community College, Orange County Community Action, and Lake Sumter Community College.
