Working in partnership with Stone Ward advertising agency in Little Rock, the Women’s Business Council – Southwest (WBCS) will roll out several new public relations efforts in September.
With the creation of a media tour in Tulsa, the redevelopment of the Council’s Web site, and the unveiling of a new 10th anniversary logo for 2005, word about WBCS will soon spread broadly and rapidly.
WBCS President Debbie Hurst will visit Tulsa for the Direction of Success Regional Meeting on September 14. In addition to teaching Tulsa businesses about the benefits of certification and working with WBEs, Hurst will share news about WBCS and the rapidly growing impact of women in business to television and print media outlets in the city. Interviews with the Tulsa Business Journal, the Tulsa World and television station Fox 23 are scheduled. Television appearances are also planned for Channel 2 News at Midday and a new mid-morning show aimed specifically at women in business on KTUL, Good Day Tulsa.
A members-only section, features on members, and a fresh, new look are all elements of the WBCS’ revitalized Web site design for www.wbcsouthwest.org, scheduled to make its debut at the annual meeting in November 2004. The site will also feature an online community message board.
“We wanted to do a Web site design that captures the spirit and energy of the WBCS, while keeping it simple and easy to navigate,” said Dee Shields, account manager for Stone Ward Interactive. “We think the members will enjoy visiting the site frequently and will find the new, dynamic areas helpful to their businesses.”
The Stone Ward creative team is also in the process of finishing up a new 10th anniversary logo for the council that will be used throughout 2005. Tenth anniversary committee members recently selected a special tagline to accompany the design. The new logo will also be revealed to council members and incorporated in the new Web site at the November 2004 annual meeting.
