New position has new focus
by Marsha Davidson
Since 2000, the Women’s Business Council has had a WBE Advocate position on the Board of Directors. Recently, this position has been changed to be called the WBE Ambassador position and I will serve in this role as the direct liaison between the board and the WBE membership. Some of my responsibilities will include:
• Reporting to the Board of Directors on the suggestions and concerns of the WBE membership as it relates to the Council's mission.
• Encouraging WBE input and involvement through participating and working with many of the WBCS committees.
• In addition, I will collaborate with the Education Committee and WBCS staff in conducting the annual WBE satisfaction survey and addressing the suggestions and concerns of the WBE membership.
I have been actively involved in the Council for over three years and it has played an important role in my life and business. I have served as Done Deals and Welcoming Co-Chair for two years, and participated in the Round Up Steering Committee for the past two years. Currently, I am Co-Chair of the Member Input Services Committee, serving on the Board of Directors, and one of the WBCS National Forum representatives.
I will be communicating with you regularly through each quarterly newsletter and look forward to getting to know each of you. I want to see the Council continue to grow and meet your needs both professionally and personally. I plan to be in attendance at all major events of the Council and the TOP TEN Meetings, so I look forward to getting to meet you. I am here to listen to your suggestions and comments!
