Land of Enchantment Welcomes WBCS

As the quest for regional outreach continues, the Council held the second of its regional meetings in Albuquerque, New Mexico on May 22nd. The meeting served as an introduction to women business owners in the area about the Council and the benefits of WBE certification.

Frito-Lay and Texas New Mexico Power sponsored the event for 45 women business owners at the Albuquerque TVI – Workforce Training Center. The meeting was supported by partner organizations: the Northern New Mexico NAWBO Chapter, the Albuquerque Small Business Development Center, the Albuquerque TVI Workforce Training Center, and New Mexico Woman Magazine.

“This unique collaboration with our corporate sponsors and partner organizations in New Mexico resulted in a dynamic meeting with women business owners about the value of certification and the many business development opportunities available to them through membership in the WBCS. We met some great business owners and began what I know will prove to be an ongoing partnership with NAWBO and the SBDC in Albuquerque,” says Debbie Hurst, Executive Director of WBCS.
