All About Autoresponders By Gary Knuckles Copyright 1999 Gary Knuckles Mail-Co & BudgetWare Marketing

What is a autoresponder? A autoresponder is basically an email box with a feature that allows it to automatically send back a pre-written response, when it receives email.

So what good is it to me? If you sell any products by internet, then it is this little worker who will send back your offer to anyone who emails you for more details, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.

SO? The reason is that email is the number one used tool on the Internet! Imagine being able to instantly respond to anyone who emails for more details about your products, whether you are asleep, on vacation, or out on a date. Just think, while you are out having fun your little autoresponder is paying for your night out!

Autoresponders are one of the most powerful resources in use today. Users on the Internet want Information NOW!. Autoresponders can give them that information NOW, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week! They can give them YOUR offer or sales pitch.

How do Autoresponders Work? An autoresponder is an automatic computer response to a request for information through email. When someone "clicks" on a link on a webpage, or in an email message to request more information it invokes the autoresponder. The browser pops up it's email message window, and the prospect types in the "Subject" or leaves it blank and presses "Send". The autoresponder then sends back a pre-written response by email, usually within minutes, and also forwards the email message to the person who owns the autoresponder. You can also automatically display a given subject in the subject line to key your offers and know which ones are producing the best.

Why not just do it manually? Well thats fine and dandy, but what if you have a hot ad and you get 1,000 responses? How long will it take you to send each email back? This saves you from going through all the requests for your product, instead the information is available on demand like "fax on demand" and you do nothing. You can then spend your time on filling orders as they come in or more promotion to get more responses. Also bear in mind the "Instant Gratification" factor, you are supplying your information to the prospective client or buyer instantly.

How many autoresponders can I have? You can have separate autoresponders for different products. You can basically have as many autoresponders as you want, or can afford. And its easy to make changes to your Autoresponder. Some offer codes or passwords and allow you to make the changes and others depending upon the host, have you send in any changes of your copy and the changes are made for you usually within 24 hours or less.
