The mission of the Governor's Advisory Council on Volunteerism and Community Service is to recognize, encourage and expand volunteerism by serving as an advocate and catalyst for the New Jersey volunteer community and by providing support to fulfill the mission of the Governor's Office of Volunteerism. Commission on National and Community Service
The mission of the New Jersey Commission on National and Community Service is to guide and support New Jersey’s AmeriCorps and Learn and Serve America programs, promote an ethic of service for citizens of all ages and backgrounds, and strengthen communities through service in the areas of education, human needs, environmental protection, disaster response, and homeland security. The event,an upscale cocktail party, provides the perfect opportunity to honor & recognize United Way’s outstanding supporters (see below for a complete list). The eventwill be held at The Atrium atConnellCompany in Berkeley Heights - a circular, soaring, modern structure encased in glass and marble with a stunning sweeping staircase completing this spectacular space.

In addition to the awards presentation the evening will include a silent auction featuring fine wines (an auction preview will be distributed to guests) along with cuisine, wine and/or get-a-way packages. WBGO Jazz88.3 is this year’s media sponsor and will be the event MC. Entertainmentwill include live music and a variety of multimedia presentations.
