RAD Group Chairman Zohar Zisapel to Speak at VITAL Summit
Hugely Successful RAD Group Has Six Companies Listed on NASDAQ
by Fred Diamond
Zohar Zisapel, chairman of the RAD Group and one of Israel’s leading high-tech entrepreneurs, announced during meetings with VITAL directors in Israel that he plans to attend the October 16-17 VITAL Summit. In partnership with his brother, Yehuda, the Rad Group has grown many companies from the incubator stage... with eight of them graduating to the NASDAQ, an accomplishment any company could marvel. His company recently won the Israel Governement public tender for a major biotech incubator. With Virginia's new emphasis as a biotech center for the World, Zisapel’s attendance will offer Virginia and Israel a first hand opportunity to examine how both can capitalize on eachother's strengths. This year’s event will be the first of its kind.
The very successful RAD Group is a family of independent companies that develop, manufacture and market solutions for diverse segments of the networking and telecommunications industry. RAD is headquartered in Tel Aviv and has offices around the world. Besides the NASDAQ companies, others are privately held by the Group's founders and several venture capital firms.
Zisapel will speak about how the RAD Group was built and offer timely advice on how Virginia companies can work with emerging tech firms in Israel to bring their best of breed technology to the US markets.

BioTech & Homeland Security Tracks Added to Summit
Demand Leads to Additional Sessions
by Fred Diamond
The VTCRC announced that two new tracks focusing on biotechnology and homeland security have been added to the October 16-17 VITAL Summit. The biotech/biomedical device track was added due to interest in Israel and the participation of the Carilion Biomedical Institute (CBI) in the VITAL Conference. Israeli manufacturers of biotech and biomedical products looking to enter the US will have a unique opportunity to meet with representatives of the CBI and other venture capitalists who specialize in biotechnology.
The CBI is a remarkable catalyst for far-reaching change. The Institute’s mission is to strengthen biomedical research at its partner universities by accelerating commercialization of research ideas into safe, superior healthcare products. By bringing together the worlds of academia, research, business, and community, the Institute creates positive changes in scientific research, the healthcare market, and patients’ lives.
