What's So Special about our New Location?
mailto:robbins@viab.org
by Ralph Robbins
On June 1, the Virginia Israel Advisory Board moved to a new location in Reston, Virginia. I sent my new address to my email list. Within the hour, one of my colleagues zapped back an email with the message: “Very cute… I know why you moved.” That really peaked my curiosity, so I asked him to explain, and couldn’t help smiling at the answer: “It’s obvious why you moved to ‘1800 Alexander Bell Drive’, he wrote. Eighteen (18) stands for ‘Chai’ in the Hebrew alphabet, which means ‘good luck’. So you moved to that address so you’ll have ‘luck’ 100 times over.” That got me thinking… since I moved, the stock market seems to have turned around with a new upward momentum, another Israeli company opened an office in my building, and my daughter announced to the world that I will become a grandfather in another six months. Guess I can’t deny reality… “1800” does have a lot of luck associated with it! Note: In the next newsletter, Israeli companies will read many other reasons why “1800 Alexander Bell Dr., Reston, Virginia 20191” makes a great location for a US entry point and/or office.
