What’s so special about our Business Development Mission to Israel in June 2002?
by Ralph Robbins

Have you ever set your alarm hours too soon to attend that early morning seminar, only to find that you’re one of only a handful of participants who quietly engage in conversation and unenthusiastically exchange business cards? We’ve all fallen victim to ineffective networking events, but how else can we seek out potential sales leads and business partners? But, now there’s an alternative with our Special Business Development Mission to Israel. Read on to find out more.

The Virginia-Israeli Advisory Board is pleased to offer an alternative to the traditional tradeshows and conferences of the times. This June, VIAB will sponsor a Special Business Development Mission to Israel aimed to provide the most effective way to network and meet with prospective business partners abroad.

The VIAB will work with you early on to select companies of interest from our comprehensive database of Israeli contacts from the government, military and business communities. We will arrange for you to have one-on-one meetings with high-ranking executives and will coordinate corporate and plant tours. You won’t get bogged down in a conference center scenario with 40 tables and 40 companies – instead, we will create a very personalized, one-on-one environment for you to forge new business alliances.

And, you won’t have to worry about logistics. VIAB will ensure than you’ll never miss a meeting, never be late for one, and never get lost. We will provide you with a private car and driver to make sure you can get to where you need to go and stay focused on the important business of making new contacts.

By participating in this mission, VIAB will make all of the necessary arrangements: room and board, meeting schedules, and transportation to and from all of your meetings.

Just the other day, someone asked me: “Why do you care so much about this mission? Isn’t your goal simply to have the largest number of companies participate?” And, here’s how I responded: “We work for the Governor and State Legislature and our mission is to build business in Virginia. If Virginia companies don’t succeed, we don’t succeed. Success is measured in “deals” and income to Virginia – not in numbers of companies that participate.” He replied, “You are very entrepreneurial for a government organization.”

And, that is exactly the value we will bring to you when you join our Special Business Development Mission.

VIAB’s mission is to promote growth and build business in Virginia, and the Business Development Mission this June is an excellent opportunity to get in front of a variety of industries and potential partners that will grow your business. Space is limited to only 20 companies, so I encourage you to take advantage of the benefits that VIAB is offering.

If you might be interested in attending our June Mission, I would like to hear from you. We want to get started with you as soon as possible to design a customized trip for you. Please contact me at vitts@viab.org for more information.
