PrimeTime: A Conversation with AOL's Len Leader

Virginia-Israel Alliance Newsletter: How have investments in Israeli technology companies benefited AOL?

Leader: America Online Time Warner (AOL) - based in Dulles, Virginia - is best known in Israel for its acquisition of ICQ, a provider of widely popular instant messaging services. Few people know of AOL's great interest and long-term commitments to export Israeli technology into the U.S. by getting into the Israeli startup scene on the ground level. We are very bullish on the Israeli venture market. We have made 14 investments in Israeli companies, including investments in four Israeli based venture capital firms, totaling approximately $60 million. We continue to see high quality and relevant deal flow from Israel, and are excited about the opportunities to continue investing in Israeli companies.
