New OECD Corporate Governance Principles Agreed

OECD members have approved new principles on corporate governance that will set more demanding standards on the protection of shareholders' interests than the 1999 guidelines they replace. The new guidelines will be formally approved at the annual OECD ministerial meeting in mid-May.

Williamson Nominated to Key Ethics Post

Edwin Williamson On March 11, President Bush announced his intention to nominate Edwin Williamson to a five-year term as director of the federal Office of Government Ethics. Mr. Williamson, a partner with Sullivan & Cromwell, had been slated to assume the role of BIAC chairman this May.
