Edward G. Galante, senior vice president with Exxon
Mobil Corporation, has been elected a vice chairman of USCIB, it was announced
following the April meeting of USCIB’s board of directors.
“Ed Galante brings considerable international experience to
USCIB’s senior outside leadership,” said
Thomas Niles, president of
USCIB. “His support for, and leadership
in, our organization will further strengthen our activities to promote American
business abroad.”
Mr. Galante joined Exxon Company, USA in 1972. Since then, he has held numerous positions
within the corporation, including chief executive and general manager of Esso
Caribbean and Central America, executive assistant to the chairman of Exxon
Corporation, chairman and managing director of Esso (Thailand) Public Company
Ltd., and executive vice president of Exxon Mobil Chemical Company He assumed his current position at Exxon
Mobil in August 2001.
A native of Inwood, N.Y., Mr. Galante earned a Bachelor of
Science degree in civil engineering from Northeastern University. He serves as a director of the National
Council of Northeastern University and as a member of its governing
corporation. He also serves on the
boards of the Council of the Americas, Council for the United States and Italy,
and Junior Achievement Worldwide, and is a member of the 25 Year Club of the
Petroleum Industry.
