The Ulster County Development Corporation (UCDC) and the Chamber of Commerce of Ulster County (Chamber) are seeking nominations for their 2nd Annual Business Recognition Awards. The awards recognize Ulster County entrepreneurs and businesses that are leaders in their field, have realized outstanding achievements over the past year, or have shown dedication and commitment to furthering business in Ulster County.

The City of Kingston is to become the home to Armor Dynamics, Inc.’s research and development and new manufacturing factory.

Kingston based Ellenbogen Group has acquired the former Regional News Network broadcast building and intend are developing it into a state-of-the art multimedia facility center called Seven21 Media Center.

In 2002 AVR Realty of Yonkers, New York acquired 500-acre running along the Hudson River, which straddles the City of Kingston and the Town of Ulster. The site, abandoned for the past 25 years, was formerly owned by the Tilcon Company and operated as quarry and cement plant.

In May the Mid-Hudson Technology Council (MHTC) sponsored the “SCiNTILLA Forum 2006” at Dutchess Community College. Students from Bard College, Marist College, SUNY New Paltz, Dutchess Community College, the United State Military Academy at West Point, and Vassar College participated in this unique science showcase, which is now in its third year.

The new year offers a time for change, and it was no different for the Ulster County Industrial Development Agency (UCIDA), which began the year with new faces and ideas.
