Mid-Hudson Technology Council Established

With the ever-increasing pace of innovation and the utilization of advanced technologies, Ulster County’s entrepreneurs, businesses, and communities must be prepared.  We must be prepared to manage the changes brought about by technology and we must be able to foster business that leads in both the development and utilization of those technologies.

To aid in managing today’s needs and being prepared for the future’s uncertainties the Ulster County Development Corporation along with the Dutchess County Economic Development Corporation worked to establish an innovative regional initiative called the Mid-Hudson Technology Council (MHTC).

The MHTC is a collaborative effort of the academic institutions (SUNY New Paltz, Marist College, Dutchess Community College and Ulster County Community College), technology businesses (IBM, Fala Technologies, MATECH, Phillips Microelectronics, and Schott-Lithotec) and the economic development organizations of Dutchess and Ulster Counties.  It will work toward supporting the growth of existing technology based businesses, attracting new businesses, nurturing startups, and fostering partnerships that enhance the technological capacity of the Mid-Hudson Region.

While fostering the development, recognition, and long-term success of the region’s technology sector, the MHTC offers services and programs that will:

  • Serve as a source of technical assistance.
  • Advocate and promote technology companies and entrepreneurs.
  • Serve as a focal point for the region’s growing community of early-state technology companies.
  • Attract support from regional and national venture funds.
  • Work to train a technically prepared workforce.

Our counties – both Ulster and Dutchess – have long been known as wonderful places to work and live.  They have been the home to businesses large and small that have been at the forefront of industrial and manufacturing innovation and global commerce – a role we wish to not only maintain but also build upon.

The MHTC is a major part of that future.  And we want you to be a part of making that future a success.  To learn more about the MHTC and view our brochure click here and to download a form to request additional information click here.
