FALA Technologies Heard Opportunity Knock from International SEMATECH

When International Sematech was looking for growth partners with advanced technology manufacturing skills in the TechValley/Hudson Valley Region, FALA Technologies
came highly recommended.  The new Sematech Group asked IBM, a leader in 300mm wafer and wafer lithography innovations, if there were any New York State based companies who Sematech could partner with to engineer and build their next generation glass substrate equipment in support of their new Extreme Ultraviolet Lithography (EUV) mask program. IBM recommended FALA Technologies.

Frank Falatyn, president and CEO confirmed that as a result of this recommendation, the company has signed an agreement with Sematech to build two new wafer reticle handler/metrology tools. With a staff of forty-five engineers, manufacturers, assemblers and technicians, FALA’s partnership with Sematech will help them remain in the forefront of this complex new technology.

FALA Technologies – with over fifty years of expertise – is known within the semiconductor, medical device, and computer sectors for their innovation in design, manufacturing, and integration of precision machine tools and instrumentation. Their capabilities include: precision machining, semiconductor equipment fabrication, and specialty design and build services.  FALA also sells a series of its own semiconductor products world-wide, including robotic bearings, mini-environments, wafer/reticle depodders and cleanroom templates, as well as providing supply chain manufacturing for major Fortune 500 companies.

The planned $400 million International Sematech North microchip research and development center at the University of Albany will be operated by New York State and a consortium of twelve computer chip makers.
