What do Silicon Valley, the Research Triangle, the MetroPlex, Austin, Boston, Seattle, and the Hudson Valley all have in common? They are all hotbeds of high-tech activity.
The Hudson Valley is fast becoming widely recognized as the site for the development of innovative, high technology firms that will drive not only the region’s economic future but that of the country.
Recognizing the importance of high technology to the future growth of the region, the 17 counties stretching from Clinton County in the north to Ulster and Dutchess Counties in the south have come together to promote the region as Tech Valley. To facilitate the promotion of the advantages of living and working in the region, Chambers of Commerce from the area have come together as the nation’s largest regional partnership – the Tech Valley Coalition.
The Coalition’s promotion of the region as Tech Valley involves a number of initiatives, all of which revolve around marketing the area as a location with prime business opportunities and a superior quality of life. The effort includes the member chambers making use of the Tech Valley logo and the positioning statement “Serving New York’s Tech Valley” on collateral materials. The marketing effort also includes a promotional campaign and supporting materials explaining the advantages and opportunities available in the Tech Valley region, support of complementary regional events such as the Summit in Tech Valley, and Web site links between each chamber and related Tech Valley Web sites.
