Central Hudson Gas and Electric Corporation has announced an innovative program of national and international marketing designed to attract new businesses to the Hudson Valley. This program will market the region as a product, promote its diversity as a marketing asset, and raise corporate awareness of the Hudson Valley as a good place to live, invest and do business.
Coordinated through an all-volunteer Economic Development Management Council, Central Hudson will make available $7.5 million over a five-year period. The Hudson Valley Economic Development Corporation has been chosen to implement the effort. Other partners include North American Realty Advisory Services, CRSR Designs of Kingston, and Marist College. In addition, community development organizations, such as the Ulster County Development Corporation, will play a major role in coordinating local participation in the effort and addressing leads generated through the initiative.
The effort will include development of a comprehensive database of major sites and properties in the region, creation of an integrated web site, preparation of collateral materials, trade show participation and direct marketing. Target audiences will include leading companies outside the metropolitan area and the northeast and site selection consultants.
