SWRR Announces Lease of New Mexico Line from BNSF

Southwestern Railroad, Inc. (SWRR) is now serving rail customers on 263 miles of track between Loving Junction and Clovis, N.M. SWRR is leasing the line, known as the Carlsbad Subdivision, from The Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Railway Company (BNSF) and has already began operations over the line.

Under Dave Elbaum's leadership, OCTA planned and implemented more than $1 billion worth of locally funded freeway improvements. Dave served OCTA as Director of Strategic Planning since 1993 up until his retirement last spring, capping an illustrious 31-year career primarily spent in the public sector.
