“The award recognizes transportation planning that demonstrates a working partnership with the community,” said MTA Countywide Planning Executive Officer Jim de la Loza, who traveled to Chicago June 28 to pick up the national award on behalf of Metro.
"OCTA plans to work more closely with Caltrans and the cities of Santa Ana and Tustin to develop the best possible solutions to improve the flow on the I-5/SR-55 interchange and get people home more quickly," OCTA Board Chairman Greg Winterbottom said.
The OnTrac delegation led by Chair and Placentia City Mayor Judy Dickinson, went to Sacramento recently to meet with key lawmakers, regarding the urgent need for the State to maintain their strong funding commitment to the OnTrac project.
OCTA attributes the award to its "Putting Customers First" initiative. OCTA launched this campaign to proactively address customer issues and enhance transit service by developing programs that provide safe, reliable transportation service throughout Orange County.
