Right now, I think we are all looking for reasons to feel optimistic. There are signs that the decline is at least slowing and even a few tentative signs — widely referred to as “green shoots” — of recovery. At Ayers, we are buoyed by the move into our new offices at 99 Park Avenue over the last weekend in March. The feat of moving 20,000 square feet of furnishings, files, and IT systems three city blocks was seamless — the result of careful planning and hard work by our internal move team — and we were completely functional and ready for business in our new space first thing Monday morning, March 30.

Globalizing the Career Transition Practice

The roll-out of Ayers’ full-service career transition practice in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, in partnership with Kelly sister company BTI, has entered a new phase. [Ayers Report Volume I] The offices in Bangkok, Jakarta, and Kuala Lumpur are now officially part of CPI and actively building the Ayers Group practice in those locations. “The new practices have hit the deck running,” says Bill Ayers, “Lita Nithiyanandan, head of BTI, and her team have been extremely helpful in setting up and coordinating all this.”

| I became interested in 21st century skills after reading The World is Flat by Thomas Friedman. The book made the consultant in me foresee a day when many American companies will wake up and find they aren’t competitive in a truly global, 24/7 business world – a world where customers are empowered by access to information, options, and tools (e.g., Twitter, YouTube, FaceBook) to reward or punish and where small start-ups with a new or better idea can upset members of the Fortune 100. It made the parent in me realize that our school systems are not equipping American children with the skills to compete successfully in a world where the best employers are going to hire the best talent wherever they find it.

Ayers Partners in Quinnipiac University Career Day
“A very full day covering every conceivable topic around conducting an effective job search campaign in today’s market,” “…as granular as it could get,” and “the most useful event we have attended,” are how some of the participants described Quinnipiac University’s Career Day. Held on campus in Hamden, Connecticut on June 17, the program was presented by The Ayers Group Consultants Damon Montal and Laura Powers, with coordination by Ayers Strategic Sales Manager Bobbie Lyons. The event was attended by more than 120 alumni, recent graduates, students, and parents.
