Career Partners International (CPI), of which The Ayers Group is a partner, has announced the addition of nine new partner firms in the U.S. and abroad. These additions, combined with recent expansions by existing partners, give CPI the largest U.S. office footprint of any career management firm.

Staffing/IT Consulting—Offers and Counters Fly as the Floodgates Open in Financial Services

Ayers’ Staffing Services group is seeing a major increase in technology jobs in the financial services sector.  “The floodgates we were talking about last year have opened and there is quite a bit of movement in the marketplace,” says Bob Deissig who heads the group.  “A lot of people out there are looking to jump,” Managing Director Harry Plastik adds.  “They are thankful to have had jobs but have been unhappy for a long time.”

Interim-Staffing Services From Ayers—A Solution to Changing HR Needs

As the economy has improved and companies have gone into hiring mode, many find themselves in an awkward position.  “Organizations that cut their HR staffs after the recent waves of downsizing are now short-handed,” says Terry Ebert, Managing Director of Career Transition Services at The Ayers Group.  “Some are reluctant to add full-time head count in corporate functions.  Interim staffing can be the solution.”

Workplace conflict—situations in which people have incompatible goals, interests, principles, or feelings—is inevitable.  It can also be disruptive.  Studies show that managers typically devote more than a third of their time to dealing with conflict and its consequences.  Unmanaged conflict accounts for some 65 percent of work-performance problems.

Breaking the Cycle of Conflict

Typically, a cycle of conflict is triggered when someone says or does something to which you attribute a motivation.  If that attribution is something negative or threatening to you, you assign blame and respond with destructive behavior—fight or flight—which triggers a similar cycle within the other person.
