On November 5, Ayers will launch the Entrepreneurial Forum – a program for Career Transition candidates looking to go into business on their own. “We wanted to find new ways to support a candidate who was interested in starting a business,” said Business Development Executive Ellen Perlstein. “I thought it would be helpful in general for candidates exploring that path to get insight from those who’ve successfully taken it.”
The Forum brings together a panel of Ayers Career Transition alumni who are entrepreneurs and candidates who are seriously considering entrepreneurship. Candidates will hear panelist presentations; a panel discussion moderated by Executive Career Transition Consultant Alan Silberberg, who heads the new program; and a briefing on resources available through the CPI Career Portal. Afterward, there will be a Q&A.
“Our alumni are happy to support us in this way, but it’s also a chance for us to help them,” Silberberg says. “This program gives them the opportunity to promote their businesses and expand their business networks.”
The Forum joins Ayers seminars on consulting and franchising as offerings for candidates who want to consider alternative careers. Other upcoming additions to the seminar roster are “Managing Stress,” “Understanding Social Networking Tools,” and “Researching SIBL*.”
