Emmis Austin produces Texas emergency preparedness PSAs
Emmis AustinThe U.S. Department of Homeland Security has teamed up with the Ad Council to produce a public service campaign which stresses the importance of emergency preparedness.

The message asks if families would know what to do or where to meet in the event of a natural disaster such as a tornado, wildfire or flood.

Emmis Communications of Austin volunteered their production services to produce public service announcements featuring the First Lady of Texas, Anita Perry.

“We were so pleased that Sondra Hawkins with the Ad Council asked Emmis Austin Radio to help with the Family Emergency Preparedness radio campaign for Texas,” said Bruce Walden, Emmis Austin general manager.

“Creative Services Director Jim Kipping was the perfect person to head up the studio session with Texas’ own First Lady.

It was an honor to meet the First Lady and to help the Ad Council with this campaign,” Walden said.

The Ad Council is a TAB Associate Member.

The Texas Emergency Preparedness PSAs encourage families to make plans and communicate those plans to all members of the family.

The Texas Homeland Security website can assist with tips and resources to help Texans formulate their emergency plan.
