On one hand, OUCH! At first, it looks as if over 70% of respondents feel that techcom provides minimal to NO contribution to revenue. On another hand, we could surmise that nearly 60% feels we generate revenue to some degree, while 40% feels we generate zilch.
To all those company executives who truly feel that communications professionals (technical or otherwise) add little to no value to their bottom lines, I smile, tip my hat (if I’m wearing one), and politely refer them to articles like “How Your Investment in Documentation Improves Your Bottom Line.”
