Results from Last Month's "Work Appreciation" Poll

Last month, we asked readers to rate their level of appreciation in their present jobs. Here is how they responded.

Work Appreciation

In your present job, how highly do you feel your employer appreciates the work your documentation team is doing?

Greatly appreciated

18.4%

Very appreciated

20.7%

Somewhat appreciated

32.2%

Low / minimum appreciation

24.1%

No appreciation

4.6%

On the positive side, most people realize some level of appreciation, but it’s obviously not to any great extent on any count. I’m wondering why that is.  I truly expected a higher percentage in the “Very appreciated” category and less in the “Low / minimum appreciation” category. One challenge now is to figure out how to improve these numbers in the workplace.

Thanks to everyone who participated in this poll.

Deadline Poll
If you had to pick between a) meeting an important deadline with only 80% of the information you need, or b) risk missing your deadline after acquiring 100% of the information, which would you choose?
I would go with 80% of the information to meet my deadline.
I would wait until I had 100% of the information and risk missing the deadline.
