On December 2, 2005, SCBA hosted an Economic Development meeting for its members. Guest speaker, Phil Ritter, Senior Vice President, Texas Instruments, addressed the SCBA on policy developments relating to commercialization of research and the attendant job creation and investment opportunities.

Dr. Dennis Stone, Vice President for Technology Development at UT Southwestern, Medical Center also presented on Technology Commercialization at UT Southwestern and its Local Impact.

These are important strategic issues and trends, which will have a profound effect on Dallas and the SCBA membership in the years ahead. 

The SCBA Public Safety Task Force met on December 1st, 2005 and discussed the crime statistics for the Corridor and reviewed the Public Safety programs for 2006. Senior Corporal Kevin Janse gave a presentation on "Theft in the Workplace". The presentation is available for all member businesses and the Task Force highly recommends that all business owners or Director's of Security should schedule a presentation for all building employees.
