T.J. Rusk Middle School
School Supply Drive

SHOW ME THE SUPPLIES!

The Stemmons Corridor Business Association (SCBA) has a long partnership with the T.J. Rusk Middle School. Several SCBA Board of Directors members also serve on the T.J. Rusk's Corporate Advisory Board.  The Corporate Advisory Board of T. J. Rusk Middle School is sponsoring a drive for school supplies.   We need these ASAP, as the students will be back in the classroom on August 15thThe list of needed supplies is shown at the bottom of this page.

This school is located at 2929 Inwood Road in the middle of the Stemmons Corridor.  Ninety-five percent (95%) of the students qualify for the free lunch program so as you can see, this is an economically challenged area.  There are approximately 734 students registered at T. J. Rusk this school semester.  A much larger group than in the past.  Thankfully, DISD has provided additional classroom space on the campus to accommodate the growth.

T. J. Rusk has an excellent staff of teachers and leaders.  The principal, Lynn Kircher, was recognized last year as Principal of the Year for Area 3 of the DISD.  The school offers many extra programs, including English as a Second Language, in addition to an evening school to get dropouts back in the classroom and prepared for high school, etc., etc.  Their curriculum includes career day, health fairs, field trips, and many other opportunities to expand their knowledge and open doors for a successful future.

We would very much appreciate the support of the SCBA in collecting supplies to help children who could very likely be without the necessary items to ensure they have the opportunity to excel.  Helping here will improve the lifestyles and futures for these families.  These kids are our future!

We will have a drop box at Employees Credit Union located at 8989 Harry Hines Boulevard.  If you would like to collect items within your own business and then contact us for pickup, we will be glad to arrange it.  If you have questions, you may contact either of the two parties shown below.
