25th anniversary of Toast of the Town sends 28 new scholars to college

The silver anniversary of Toast of the Town was marked with 25 parties around Central Texas. These parties raised funds for 28 new St. David's Neal Kocurek scholars to attend college to study health care related fields. Before heading off to school, the students spent the day at a college preparation workshop learning about time management and good study skills. They also met their mentors, health care professionals from St. David's HealthCare, who will offer advice and friendship during the students' college careers. Recently, the Board approved that beginning in 2010, Toast of the Town proceeds will be matched by the Foundation, thereby doubling the dollar amount of scholarships awarded.
