Local RPCV Group Honored with Award

Congratulations to the Returned Peace Corps Volunteers of Wisconsin-Madison! At this year’s National Peace Corps Association’s Conference in Chicago, IL, Peace Corps Director Gaddi H. Vasquez presented the group with a first ever volunteer recognition award. Both individual RPCVs and RPCV groups throughout the United States were nominated to receive the award, but only one from each category were selected at the event.

Although the smallest country in Central America by land size, El Salvador is one of the most densely populated with just under 7 million people. Tucked between Guatemala and Honduras, and bordering the North Pacific Ocean, El Salvador has numerous volcanoes and forests, and has a climate that ranges from tropical to temperate.
