PRESIDENT'S LETTER
|
From the President
by Mark Gilliland
I hope everyone had a merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
I was speaking with a young auditor the other day who has been busy with year end inventories. Being one of the new guys at his firm, he’s logging a lot of miles to count cattle and make sure grain bins and molasses tanks actually contain grain and molasses. I had to laugh. Twenty years ago I was doing the same thing. I remember climbing around on top of a grain bin when it was freezing and the wind was blowing 30 miles an hour, being very careful not to fall off and wondering how I got myself into this.
How are the tax guys doing? Beginning to get a little anxious about tax season? What you need is an evening of fun and the Casino Night Committee has you covered. January 23rd is the night for the second annual Casino Night to be held at The Renaissance. All members and student members are welcome. There’s a link to the registration form on the home page of the website and in the article in this newsletter.
Also, mark February 5th as the date for a Chapter Meeting. We have invited our Young and Emerging CPAs Group. Kym Anderson, Chairman of the TSCPA will be here to speak at both events. And, we will recognize the Student Members at the meeting. A link to the Registration form is enclosed in the this newsletter in the Chapter Meeting article.
Hope you all have a great 2010!
