YOU SURVIVED TAX SEASON!

Coming up in May, we have the Leadership Training  Day for incoming and outgoing Board and Committee Chairs.  It is scheduled for Thursday, May 10th at 9:30 am.  The final lunch and Chapter Meeting will follow at 11:45 with the final drawing of the year for $100.  Remember, we will draw until we have a winner.  The Golf Tournament will be immediately following at Ross Rogers.  It's not too late to sign up. 

The Accounting and Auditing CPE is scheduled for May 16th and 17th at the Amarillo College Business and Industry Center on Polk Street.  Thank you to Ellen Jones for putting together an excellent program again this year.

The Panhandle Chapter has had a great year.  I want to take this opportunity to thank the Board and all the people who have volunteered to Chair or serve on Committees this year.  We wouldn't be able to offer quality CPE, superb scholarships, local education or promote the CPA profession without these volunteers.   I really appreciate all their hard work to make this a beneficial and positive year.  Also, I want to thank Jobie Ogburn.  She does a great job taking care of the Chapter business. 

Good Luck to Richard Blankenship.  I know you will have a super year.

Thank you to the Education Committee this year for their commitment to the Chapter promotion of CPA’s as a career.  A special thank-you to Kim Clark for heading up the following event. 

The Relations with Education Committee will participate in Ready for the Real World, an AISD-sponsored event involving all high school juniors in the district.  The event, held May 15 at the Amarillo Civic Center, will allow us to provide workshops on accounting careers using the TSCPA  'Takin' Care of Business' material geared toward high school students.  We hope to spark interest, answer questions and inspire some of these students to become CPA's. 

If you know any high school juniors, encourage them to sign up!
