Stimulus Dollars at Work in Our Region…How You Can Benefit!
With more than $3 million in stimulus funds under the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act, WORKFORCE CENTRAL FLORIDA (WCF) has created the Summer Job Connection, a program that will pay the wages of 1,200 economically disadvantaged young adults, ages 16-24, to work with local employers. WCF will pay the wages of the young adults in the program, who may work up to 35 hours a week at $8.00 per hour for six weeks. (About 100 participants will also work in a 28-week program in select targeted industries).
