U.S. Sen. George Lemieux to Legislature: "Give Me The Ammunition"
Appearing in the Central Florida Partnership Boardroom on Nov. 11th, U.S. Sen. George LeMieux (R-FL) challenged the Florida legislature to “do the right thing” in a special session by showing support for both the proposed Sun Rail and the existing Tri-Rail commuter train in South Florida so that Florida would have a reasonable chance of winning federal stimulus money for a proposed Tampa-Orlando high speed rail link.

In just eight days with over 15,000 miles, four hotels, two tour guides, daily 6 a.m. wake up calls, and thousands of photographs to be shared, twenty five new friends from the Orlando Regional Chamber contingent returned to Orlando on Saturday evening full of centuries-old sights and sounds of Imperial China. Also returning were representatives of the Daytona Beach/Halifax Area Chamber of Commerce, St. Petersburg Area Chamber of Commerce, and Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce, for a total of 127 travelers from Central Florida.

2010 Political Leadership Institute Applicant Screening Underway
Over 80 applications have been received for the coveted 25 slots available in the 2010 Central Florida Political Leadership Institute held at the Roy E. Crummer Graduate School of Business at Rollins College during Feb. 18-20. To thoroughly review these applications, a Screening Committee chaired by Dori Madison and composed of 9 members from the BusinessForce Board of Directors has been poring through the applications in recent days and is in the process of scheduling and conducting interviews with finalists.
