led by myregion.org, examines the demographics and trends that are shaping our region and identifys the issues and challenges that affect the future, turning ideas into results.

Regional Leadership, maximizing the thirty year history of Leadership Orlando, utilizes tested curricula and relationship building techniques to educate, encourage, cultivate and recruit emerging leaders for the Central Florida Region.

Regional Public Policy Advocacy, moving important dialog about issues and candidates to the public arena enabling political leaders and voters to make informed decisions about the future of Central Florida is guided by BusinessForce.

Regional Transportation
To help solve our regional transportation problems, the Central Florida Partnership has created the Transportation Corridors “Task Force”  to advocate and communicate the “community and business imperative” of a comprehensive, integrated multi-modal regional transportation system.

More than 100 business and community leaders dropped by to say hello and offer a hand of greeting to Leslie Hielema, the new President of the Orlando Regional Chamber of Commerce, during the Chamber “Open House” on Wednesday. “It was especially gratifying for me that so many community leaders took time away from their busy schedules to visit with me last week,” said Hielema.

Congress of Regional Leaders
Advances Regional Solutions and Partnerships

Members of the Congress of Regional Leaders were busy advancing regional solutions and creating partnerships during their monthly meeting last week, held at the facilities of METROPLAN ORLANDO. Evidencing their strong commitment to regional cooperation, collaboration and partnerships, the group not only passed two key regional water policies/practices on irrigation for a region-wide approach to water conservation but also signed a Resolution of Support regarding the Central Florida Commuter Rail Project and engaged in a historic partnership with the Urban Land Institute to create programs that will advance the four themes and six principles developed as part of the “How Shall We Grow?” initiative.

Rep. Dean Cannon to Lead Community Salute to Sen. Dan Webster
Sen. Dan Webster (R-Winter Garden) The 28 year long public service career of retiring Sen. Dan Webster (R-Winter Garden) will be celebrated at a special community luncheon today.   The sold-out luncheon at the Downtown Marriott Hotel is being organized by 2010 House Speaker-designate Dean Cannon (R-Winter Park) who will also serve as the Master of Ceremonies.  The Orlando Regional Chamber of Commerce has been asked to assist Cannon in coordinating the special event.
