NCATT Hosts FOE Workshop
Billion Dollar Issue Focus of New Standards

On November 13, 2006 aviation industry leaders and subject-matter-experts from across the United States came together in a “workshop” hosted by NCATT. These aviation industry leaders and experts came from Aerojet, Bell Helicopter, Defense Contract Management Agency, DFW Airport Operations, Eclipse Aviation, Lockheed Martin Aeronautics, Lockheed Martin Space Systems, Northrop Grumman, Pratt & Whitney Engines, Space-TEC, TAESL (American Airlines), United Space Alliance and Vought Aircraft Industries. The National Aerospace FOD Prevention, Inc organization was also represented by its President and Vice-President.

INSTALLATION
Workshop Completes Installation/Integration Standards
NCATT Executive Board Approves

NCATT utilized knowledgeable avionics subject matter experts representing the aviation industry to validate national standards on Aircraft Electronics Systems Installation/Integration. Current subject matter experts met and discussed and solidified the particulars of these standards. Many areas of the industry were represented. The validation workshop was held from August 14-16, 2006 at the Hilton Kansas City Airport, Kansas City, MO.

NAV / COMM
Nav & Comm Standards Approved

Standards for General Navigation Systems and General Communication Systems as set forth by the March workshop were approved by the NCATT Executive Board for dissemination and implementation.

These standards will be the basis for the NCATT certifications and endorsements in Navigation Systems and Communication Systems. The Nav and Comm standards will be posted on www.ncatt.org by February 28, 2007. If you would like a copy earlier than that date please contact NCATT.

Please keep in mind that your initial certification must be the NCATT AET certification.

Spirit Avionics - Rick Ochs

A key component of our partnerships is the civil aviation industry. The FAA Part 145 repair stations are a major component of the aviation industry today and we would like to spotlight Rick Ochs and Spirit Avionics of Columbus, OH. Rick was introduced to us by Mike Adamson of the Aircraft Electronics Association. Rick has quickly become involved in our various committees.
