President's Message: Thanks For The Memories
by By Diane McCartney, President
Two things that bring me great personal satisfaction are:
1) Mentoring -- investing my time and effort to empower a person to see that they can achieve more than they believed possible; and
2) Building and encouraging teams -- helping people see that when they work together, they can achieve 10 times more than they could through individual effort.

NAWBO D/FW Makes Connections With Trinity Fest 2003
Volunteer Now and Make Your Own New Connections!
by By Susan Abrahamson
NAWBO D/FW is very excited about its partnership with Trinity Fest 2003, the second annual, community-wide, Fourth-of-July celebration. The festival, which is open to the public, will be held in downtown Dallas on Friday, July 4, 2003. NAWBO will benefit from greatly increased community visibility, the opportunity to build stronger relationships with our corporate partners (many of whom will play a prominent role in the celebration) and the opportunity to participate with many of the city’s most notable business leaders in a new, different and exciting civic venue.

One of every 11 U.S. women is now a business owner, says a study out today, and that fast-growing niche is catching the attention of more marketers.
The number of companies owned 50% or more by women last year jumped 11% from 1997, to 10.1 million, nearly twice the growth rate of all companies, says the non-profit Center for Women's Business Research. It based its study on Census data.
