January is one of my favorite months because it is a time of new beginnings and fresh starts. Our future is a product of our past, so January is a time to reflect on what we have accomplished and lessons we have learned, and to set new goals for the year ahead.

January 14th Meeting

Each of our lives is affected, every day, by policies that are set by our local, state and federal elected officials. Some we may agree with and others we disagree with, but by and large, women have yet to realize the power of their voice and vote. January marks the celebration of Public Policy throughout NAWBO. It is our opportunity to realize what’s happening and what's about to happen on the political scene, and what we can do about it. To help kick off this Public Policy Month, NAWBO’s DFW Chapter is proud to present State Senator Florence Shapiro.

The Promise of Things to Come

Did you know that a recent study commissioned by ACCION, USA, found that 82 percent of the estimated 13.1 million micro-entrepreneurs in the United States have never received a bank loan? Did you know that of those, 86 percent had never applied for one, in many cases because of fear of rejection? Well, have no fear. You will soon be able to apply for a low interest loan, with an easy application process, from a group you know – NAWBO.
