President’s Message
Wendy Lopez, NAWBO D/FW president 2003-2004
What
a wonderful turnout we had for our January Public Policy program! Over 130 members, potential members,
corporate partners and guests gathered to hear Texas State Comptroller, Carole Keeton Strayhorn. Her talk was
informative and enlightening, but I’m not sure that my ears can listen nearly
as fast as she can talk! Whew!
A
big thank you to our three Table
Sponsors for this event:
Lone Star Bank
LOPEZGARCIA
GROUP
Mary
Ceverha & Friends
And
another big thank you to Susie Morrissey and her Public Policy committee
members for putting this great program together. This program has had the largest draw in attendance so far this
year. Pump Up the Volume, Susie!
Our
remaining program schedule is: February
9th, March 8th, April 12th, and May 10th.
I hope you will come out to experience these great programs.
Additionally,
don’t forget about the two NAWBO National meetings on the horizon. They are:
1.
Public Policy Days in Washington DC on February 29th
– March 2nd
2. NAWBO National
Conference in Dallas on June 3rd – June 5th
This
brings me to another opportunity… Marilyn Bushey is off to a racing start as
the National Conference Liaison. If
you’re looking for something to sink your teeth into, contact Marilyn at (972)
824-5954 or e-mail powerpac@gte.net about serving on
the local National Conference committee.
