Almost 40 members, corporate partners, and guests were on hand to meet NAWBO’s National President Elect, learn how to use the power of PR to grow their business, and wish our Chapter President a happy birthday.

VP of Programs, Joan Voeller presented Chapter president Wendy Lopez with a birthday surprise
The DF/W Chapter held a special event to honor Beverly Inman-Ebel, national president-elect of NAWBO and enjoyed a workshop presented by Mary Schnack of Mary Schnack Media Services, Inc. on using public relations to propel our businesses to the next level of success and beyond.

Board Secretary D’ Forman and UPS Corporate Partner representative, Pat Horonzy enjoyed the beautiful grounds of the Las Colinas Country Club.
Beverly Inman-Ebel expressed her excitement about the Annual Conference to be held in Dallas in 2004 and introduced several new and exciting programs from National including updates from the membership forums held at the national conference in 2002 in Salt Lake City.

The forums provided insight into key areas that the members believe should be the focus of programs and initiatives in the coming years. They included alliances with other organizations, the branding of NAWBO, attention to communications and public relations, maintaining and developing relationships with national and regional corporate partners, and internal governance and by-law assessment.

President of Programs, Joan Voeller introduced Mary Schnack, a PR professional with an impressive list of credentials including a 25-year career in communications media, consulting, and public speaking. Her firm is located in Sedona, Arizona where her team represents corporations, small businesses, and non–profit organizations.
Mary’s presentation began with how to PUMP UP THE VOLUME in your business by using PR effectively as a form of marketing communications.  Mary packed a lot of information into the program and gave us a great overview how the media organizations work and how to work with them to increase our opportunities for success in getting their attention and using PR successfully.
