Benefits of YOUR NAWBO D/FW Membership

- Mentor-Entrepreneur Program
If you miss this deadline, be sure to add it to your calendar for next year

As a member of NAWBO D/FW, you are eligible to participate in the 2004 Mentor-Entrepreneur Program conducted by the North Texas Commission in partnership with the Dallas/Fort Worth Minority Business Development Council. September 26th is the deadline to submit your application. The program is designed to nurture the professional development, productivity and overall success of small, woman and minority-owned businesses in the Dallas/Fort Worth area through the formation of a mentor-entrepreneur relationship with a suitable, larger or more experienced business. Businesses that have served as mentors in the program include: Bank One, Frito Lay, IBM, Kraft, SBC, Sears, Texas Instruments, UTA and Xerox.

To learn more about the benefits of this program and find out what other participants say about their experiences visit www.ntc-dfw.org/ntcprogrammentor.html. Applications are available online and are due by September 26, 2003. Entrepreneurs must include a $50 application fee (refunded if you are not matched). You can also contact the program’s director, Shenia Brass, at 972.621.0400 or shenia@ntc-dfw.org.

- Media Opportunities for eligible NAWBO D/FW members

Just one of the many benefits of being a NAWBO D/FW member is access to media opportunities that can give you and your business local and national exposure. Please check your e-mail regularly as the NAWBO office distributes deadline-sensitive media opportunities to the membership as they arise. Don’t let these opportunities pass you by!

- Prepaid luncheon option for NAWBO D/FW members

For your convenience NAWBO D/FW now offers the Luncheon Prepayment Option. Members will receive 10 luncheons (excluding the Golf Tournament and the Annual Event) for the price of nine luncheons—a one-time cost of $225. This option is available for current NAWBO members only. When members pre-pay, the prepayment period will begin the month of purchase until that month the following year.

If members choose this option they will not be required to RSVP; they will automatically be registered for each luncheon. If you know you will not be able to attend a specific luncheon, we would appreciate knowing that, but you are not required to do so. Please be aware there are no substitutions if you cannot attend the luncheon, you will simply lose that month’s luncheon. The prepayment program is non-transferable and non-refundable and is not part of NAWBO membership dues.
